Nail Surgery

Ingrowing toenails can cause significant pain and discomfort, but not every case requires surgery. At Toetal Footcare, our skilled podiatrists are often able to resolve even the most painful ingrowing nails with conservative treatments. However, if surgery is necessary, we offer a safe and effective minor procedure to permanently resolve the problem.

Our Approach

Assessment First

We always begin with a general appointment to assess the severity of the problem and determine whether surgery is needed.

Conservative Treatment

Many patients are pleasantly surprised to find that we can resolve their ingrowing toenail with a simple procedure during a general appointment.

Surgical Option

If surgery is required, we perform a partial nail avulsion under local anesthetic. This involves removing the problematic part of the nail and applying a chemical to prevent regrowth in that area.

The majority of ingrowing toenails will not require surgery. We always see a patient in a general clinic appointment first to assess need and suitability for surgery.
