Wales’ number one triathlete Rhys Jones has enlisted the help of Toetal Footcare to provide his orthoses to take his triathlete career to the next level. By improving lower limb function the orthoses are designed to not only to help competition performance but to enable Rhys to train longer and harder without injury.

Rhys attended a biomechanical examination at the end of October and is now in the wearing in period of his new orthoses. Rhys who himself has a degree in Coach Education and Sport Performance said “the examination at Toetal Footcare was the most comprehensive I have ever had, Dr. Lewis is an ex international athlete herself and was able to fully understand my training schedule and how important injury free training is to me, I have just had an end of season training break and I am now back in training for the new season. At the moment I am wearing the orthotics for a short periods each day and already I can feel the difference not only in my feet but in my knees and hips “

Rhys who is 27 and trains with the Llantrisant Sharks Swimming Club is going from strength to strength he was Welsh triathlon champion in 2008 and 2009 and represented Wales in the British elite triathlon championships in Scotland this year.
Unfortunately there is no triathlon in next years commonwealth games in India but Rhys is on target to represent Wales at the commonwealth games in Glasgow in 2014 and to continue his journey into the British elite in this sport
